Designed to increase your day-to-day comfort, our venous treatments range from treating chronic conditions to cosmetic procedures.

About Vein Treatments

The comfort and privacy of our patients are our priority. Our venous and cosmetic procedures are designed to eliminate the look of prominent veins caused by a range of conditions and ailments. Our personalized treatment plans address each patient’s needs to achieve the best long-term results in collaboration with you.

With minimal or no downtime, our venous treatments are designed to work together as needed to give the best results. There is no one venous treatment that is superior to other treatments. The best treatment option depends on everyone’s anatomy, location, varicosity number, and underlying venous reflux severity.

Before/After

Types of Vein Treatments

Lifestyle Measures

These measures can help temporarily reduce leg discomfort from venous insufficiency. However, they cannot reverse any skin changes that have already occurred. General measures are taken to improve leg venous drainage, such as maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding prolonged standing or sitting, regular exercise, and wearing compression stockings.

EVLT

Endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) is used to treat large superficial veins with evidence of venous reflux causing large varicosities or visible skin damage. This procedure is performed under thermal anesthesia, using laser fibre to generate heat to permanently damage the collagen in the vein walls, causing the treated veins’ sealing.

VenaSeal

A small catheter is inserted into the diseased vein and then advanced under ultrasound guidance toward the groin. This minimally invasive venous treatment is administered under local anesthesia at the catheter site.

Conventional Sclerotherapy

This treatment is for small superficial veins under 4mm. If smaller veins are the only ones impacted, this can be the only treatment needed or be used as part of a touch-up treatment following other endovenous treatments. This treatment is performed in our office with a very tiny needle. This treatment does not require anesthesia.

Ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy

For larger veins that lie below the skin’s surface, this treatment is usually combined with other vein treatment methods. The ultrasound is used to identify the veins, and a sclerosing agent is prepared as a foam before injecting it into the vein. Following this treatment, compression bandages and stockings are required for 48 hours.
